The Secure Exchanges ribbon in Outlook: shortcuts and available options

The Secure Exchanges ribbon in Outlook groups together various options and shortcuts related to email security and your license:



You can use the drop-down list below to learn more about each category (Status, Envelope, Chat, etc.)
"Status" section

The Status section, located on the far left of the ribbon, allows you to view and control the Secure Exchanges status for your Outlook session. This section indicates whether your Secure Exchanges license is active or inactive.

How does it work?
  • When the status is "Active", Secure Exchanges is functioning according to the configured rules.
  • When the status is "Inactive", Secure Exchanges is temporarily disabled for your transmissions.
  • A simple click on the status icon allows you to switch between "Active" and "Inactive", without leaving Outlook.

This option acts as a quick switch.

"Envelope" section
This section provides access to secure envelopes, used to retrieve confidential information from an external recipient.
"Chat" section
The "Chat" section provides access to alternative secure communication methods, such as:
  1. The secure chat
  2. Sending a link or a confidential message via SMS
These options are useful when communication does not take place solely via traditional email.
"Message Options" section
This section allows you to adjust the behavior of Secure Exchanges when sending an email.


  1. When you click on the paperclip icon, it turns orange.
  2. When the paperclip icon is orange, it means that Secure Exchanges will only be used.
    when attachments are added to the email.

In practical terms, if you compose a new message without an attachment , you will not be able to secure it. However, as soon as one or more attachments are added, Secure Exchanges becomes active in the email.

You can disable this option at any time by clicking the paperclip icon again. It will turn gray, indicating that the option is disabled. When disabled, Secure Exchanges is active for all types of email.
"Newspapers" section
The "Logs" section provides access to tracking information related to your Secure Exchange shipments.

"Settings" section
This section provides access to the settings related to your Secure Exchanges license.

"About" section
The "About" section allows you to:

  1. Check the validity of your license and your license type (advanced, PRO, etc.)
  2. Buy online
  3. Update your license data
  4. Check the version of the Secure Exchanges plug-in installed
  5. Access help and support documentation
