My Secure Exchanges tab is no longer present in my Outlook ribbon.

The Secure Exchanges tab no longer appears in the Outlook ribbon.

If the Secure Exchanges tab is no longer visible in the Outlook ribbon when it was previously present, this generally means that Microsoft has disabled the add-in.
The procedure below allows you to reactivate it.

Step 1 – Check if the add-in has been disabled by Outlook

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Click on " File"

  3. Click on Manage slow and disabled COM add-ins

In this window, search for the OSecureExchanges add-in.

Step 2 – Reactivate the OSecureExchanges add-in

If OSecureExchanges appears in the list:

  1. Click on "Options"

  2. Select the option "Do not monitor this supplement for the next 30 days"

  3. Click on " Apply"

Alert
This action prevents Outlook from automatically disabling Secure Exchanges in the short term, but not in the long term, so continue with the following steps.

Step 3 – Check for the presence of the WatchDog file

Info
The WatchDog is a module created by Secure Exchanges that prevents Microsoft from automatically disabling the Secure Exchanges add-in.
  1. Press Windows + R

  2. Copy and paste the path into the window that appears, then click OK :

% userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\SecureExchanges

  1. Check if a folder named SEWD is present.

Step 5 – Start or install the WatchDog

Case 1 – The WatchDog file is present

  1. Open the SEWD folder, then double-click on the 9005_SEWD file.
  2. Then reopen Outlook: the Secure Exchanges tab should now be visible again.

Notes
No window will appear, that's normal.

Case 2 – The WatchDog file is missing

If the file is not present:

  1. Download the WatchDog file attached at the bottom of this article

  2. Unzip it into the following folder:

% userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\SecureExchanges

  1. Once unzipped, double-click on 9005_SEWD

  2. Then reopen Outlook: the Secure Exchanges tab should now be visible again.

Notes
It is normal that no window appears when you double-click on 9005_SEWD
