Secure the return of my messages and envelopes in Secure Exchanges
The Protected Returns feature allows you to automatically secure anything your customers return to you from a Secure Exchanges shipment.
It applies to:
- signed documents;
- files placed in an envelope;
- any content that your customer sends back to you using the " Reply" button in Secure Exchanges, after accessing your secure message.
When this protection is activated, you are assured that all feedback remains confidential when it arrives in your email inbox.
This feature is only available with Pro licenses.
1. You send a secure message, or a confidential information recovery envelope.
2. Your client opens your message in the secure environment. * If they click the " Reply" button in Secure Exchanges, upload a document, or complete a signature:
→ its return is automatically protected.
3. When you receive this reply in your email inbox:
→ You must first authenticate to access the content:
- via an SMS code, or
- via Microsoft, depending on the option selected.
Activate return protection
1. Log in to the Secure Exchanges online portal.
2. In the Return Protection section, choose:
- SMS: receipt of a secure code;
- Microsoft: Sign in using your Microsoft account.

Make sure your mobile phone number and area code are entered correctly if you are using SMS code protection, as the authentication code will be sent to you via SMS.
3. Click Save.
