Install and activate Secure Exchanges on Outlook Web
The installation must be performed by your organization's Microsoft 365 administrator. This person will need to follow Procedure 1. If there is no administrator (e.g., individual account), proceed directly to Procedure 2.
Procedure 1 – Deployment by a Microsoft 365 administrator
- Access the Microsoft 365 admin center and sign in.
- Go to Settings > Integrated Apps.

- Click on "Load custom applications" and select "Office Add-in".

- In the Provide link to manifest field, paste the following link: https://office365.secure-exchanges.com/SecureExchanges.xml and then validate.

- Validate the added information, then click Next to proceed to the next step.
- Click Next , then choose the deployment scope:
- For you only
- For the entire organization
- For a specific group of users (If some people are still using Outlook Classic, create a group reserved for Outlook Web/New users.)

- Click on " Accept permissions", then accept the necessary permissions:

- Finalize the deployment by clicking on "Complete Deployment"

Once the deployment is complete,
Secure Exchanges will appear in the
Add-ins section of the admin portal. Once the deployment is complete, Secure Exchanges will appear in the Built-in apps section visible in your Microsoft Admin Center. To choose the deployment method that best suits your organization, click "Add-ins," and then click Secure Exchanges.

This is the page where you can choose the deployment method best suited to your organization:
- Resolved (default): the module is automatically added to Outlook and cannot be removed (recommended).
- Available: Users can install the module themselves from Get more add-ons.
- Optional: The module is added automatically, but users can remove it.
We recommend the "Resolved " option, as it ensures that Secure Exchanges remains visible and functional for all affected users.
The addition may take up to 24 hours to appear in Outlook.
Procedure #2: Installation without administrator access
Step 1. Download the XML file:
- Access this link:
- Right-click and select "Save As" to download the XML file.
