How do I disable Secure Exchanges on Gmail?
Secure Exchanges is added to Gmail as a browser extension that you activate with your licence. There may be times when you want to turn it off for a while on your Gmail account. This article shows where to find the command that does this, and that also turns the tool back on.
Prerequisites
- The Secure Exchanges extension is installed in your browser and your licence is activated: see How do I install and activate Secure Exchanges on Gmail?.
- Gmail is open in that same browser.
You have the option to temporarily disable Secure Exchanges on your Gmail account by clicking the Enable/Disable button:
The same Enable/Disable button then turns Secure Exchanges back on.
Troubleshooting
- The Enable/Disable button does not appear: make sure the extension is installed and your licence is activated, by following How do I install and activate Secure Exchanges on Gmail?.
- The change does not seem to be taken into account: the options in the configuration window have to be saved, as explained in What are the Secure Exchanges configuration settings on Gmail?.
