How to customize the white label on the Secure Exchanges portal?

How can I customize Secure Exchanges with my company logo and colors?

The white-label feature allows you to customize the appearance of secure communications sent by your organization, ensuring they accurately reflect your brand. This allows recipients to immediately recognize the sender, increasing trust and open rates for secure messages.

Prerequisites

Three conditions must be met:

  • You must be an administrator of the company account.
  • Your company domain needs to be approved. See How do I add my domain?
  • You must have an approved subdomain, or apply for one. This is covered in step 1 below.
Note: the subdomain is approved by the Secure Exchanges team within a maximum of 48 business hours. Until this approval is complete, the white-label customization options will not be saved. Therefore, please allow for this timeframe if you are preparing the configuration for a specific date.

Step 1: Request a subdomain

This step is mandatory, even if your primary domain is already approved.

  1. Log in to the Secure Exchanges online portal. If you need help, see Log in to the Secure Exchanges online portal
  2. In the left-hand menu, under the Organization section, click on Business Management.
  3. In the Subdomain section, enter the desired subdomain.

  4. Click on Save.

The subdomain will then change to "pending approval" status. You will receive an email confirmation once it has been approved.

Understanding the subdomain

A subdomain is an extension of the secure-exchanges.com domain that represents your company. It appears in the opening links of secure messages, which strengthens the credibility of the message in the eyes of your recipients.

For example, if your website is www.mesfinances.com, your subdomain could be mesfinances. The address generated when opening a secure message from your organization would then be mesfinances.secure-exchanges.com.

Warning: no periods or commas are allowed. Choose a short and easily recognizable name, as it will be visible to all your recipients.

Step 2: Customize the appearance of secure communications

Once the subdomain is approved, three elements can be customized.

Interface colours

HTML header colour. It corresponds to the header bar displayed in secure emails.

Button, border, and text colours. These apply to the preview of secure emails as well as to secure envelopes shared with your recipients.

Note: ensure sufficient contrast between the text colour and the background colour. A pale button on a pale background becomes difficult to spot, especially on a phone.

Upload your company logo. A file with a transparent background is recommended so that the logo integrates correctly regardless of the header colour chosen.

Custom header text

Change the text displayed when a secure message is opened. This text is visible to all your recipients. Use short, clear language that identifies your organization.

Step 3: Save the changes

  1. Click on Save.
  2. The changes are applied immediately.

Your secure communications now reflect your company's visual identity. We suggest you send yourself a test secure message to validate how it looks on the recipient's end, both on a computer and a phone.

Troubleshooting

  • My changes haven't been saved. Check your subdomain's status. While it's pending approval, customization options cannot be saved.
  • My subdomain is rejected during entry. Remove any periods or commas from the entered name.
  • Where do you edit the text of the emails themselves? The white label manages the visual appearance. For message content, see How do I edit communication emails?
