New: sign in to the online portal with Microsoft authentication

You can sign in to the Secure Exchanges online portal with your Microsoft work or school account, instead of your license credentials. This option is suited to organizations that use Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).

With this method, sign-in benefits from the protections already set up in your Microsoft account, such as two-factor authentication.

Before you start: use the Microsoft account associated with the email address of your Secure Exchanges license.

Step 1: Go to the sign-in page

Go to the Secure Exchanges online portal.

Step 2: Choose "Sign in with Microsoft"

Below the sign-in form, click the "Sign in with Microsoft" button.

Step 3: Enter your Microsoft credentials

You are redirected to the Microsoft sign-in page.

  1. Enter the work or school email address of your Microsoft account.
  2. Enter your password, then confirm.

Step 4: Grant access (first sign-in only)

The first time you sign in, Microsoft asks you to allow Secure Exchanges to access the account information:

  • Administrator: an option lets you approve access for the entire organization. Users will then have nothing to approve.
  • User: if the administrator has not given this approval, each user must grant access themselves.

Step 5: Confirm your identity

Depending on how your account is set up, an additional check may be required:

  • If your organization uses Microsoft two-factor authentication, enter the verification code.
  • If you also use Secure Exchanges two-factor authentication, you will be asked for both checks.
Warning: if no two-factor authentication is set up, Secure Exchanges sends you an opening code by email. Enter this code to complete the sign-in.

Step 6: Access your account

Once your identity is confirmed, you are redirected to your account in the online portal.

Protect the opening of your secure replies

You can also require an identity check before opening the documents returned to you (replies to your messages and drop-offs in your envelopes). Two methods are available:

  • One-time SMS code: a code is sent by text message to confirm your identity before you access the documents received.
  • Microsoft authentication: your identity is confirmed by your Microsoft account before you access the documents received.
Note: reply protection is available only with the Pro license.

To turn it on:

  1. Sign in to the online portal.
  2. Go to the "My account" section.
  3. Check the protection method or methods you want to turn on.

If you turn on both methods, you will choose the one you prefer each time you open a reply.

Frequently asked questions

Microsoft asks every user for permission. Is this normal?
Yes, if the administrator has not approved access for the entire organization. Ask them to sign in once with Microsoft and accept the approval for the organization.
