Can I disable the open receipt that recipients receive when they open my email?

How do I enable or disable open receipts in Outlook?

Open receipts allow you to receive a notification when a recipient opens one of your secure emails. You can choose to enable or disable this option at any time.

Step 1: Open the Secure Exchanges tab

Open Outlook and select the Secure Exchanges tab in the top ribbon.

Step 2: Open the settings

Click on Settings.

Step 3: Find the receipts section

In the window that appears, look for the "Message settings" section.

Step 4: Enable or disable the option

Check or uncheck the option according to your preference:

  • Checked: you will receive a notification each time a message is opened.
  • Unchecked: no notification will be sent.

Step 5: Save your changes

Click on "Save settings" to apply your changes.

The changes will take effect immediately for all your future emails sent from Outlook.
