ZeroVu Signature – A major step forward for your electronic documents

ZeroVu Signature™ is the digital signature of Secure Exchanges. Since June 1st, 2026, it applies automatically to every signature request: there is no option left to tick, no choice to make when you send. That shift came with four visible changes in your signed documents, and noticing them is often what prompts our clients to write to us. This article explains the reason behind the decision first, then what it changes in practice for you and for your signatories.

Why we made this change

Secure Exchanges serves clients all over the world. So that our digital signatures are recognized and valid everywhere, we aligned our process with the international norms and standards for digital signatures.

In practice, the proof of a signature no longer rests on what we add to the document, but on what the document already contains. Our certificates are listed in the AATL, the Adobe Approved Trust List, the chain of trust that Adobe and the main PDF readers recognize on sight. The file itself carries the signature, its history and its timestamp, and long term validation, the LTV technology, preserves its legal value for years. If the document is altered after signing, the PDF reader says so.

This choice changes nothing about confidentiality, which has been the same since day one: only a digital fingerprint, the hash, is transmitted to our servers. Your document itself never leaves your environment.

What changes for you

Four changes have been visible since June 1st, 2026.

One single way to send a document for signature

Several options used to be offered when sending a document for signature. Only one remains: Sign and send. That leaves you one procedure to know, one to explain to your signatories, and the certainty that every one of your documents goes out with the same level of proof.

Validation happens in your PDF reader

You used to have to rely on a certificate page and a stamp added to the document. Now your PDF reader delivers the verdict. Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Foxit, Nitro and any compatible reader show a validation banner at the top of the document, then a signature panel stating that the signature is valid and signed by Secure Exchanges Inc., the timestamp confirming the exact date and time, the verified identity of the signatory and the complete validation history. The proof no longer comes from us: it comes from your recipient's own reader, backed by the AATL chain of trust.


The certificate page is no longer attached to the document

Since validation is now built into the PDF file, the certificate page added at the end of every document was redundant: it made the document longer without proving anything more. If you still need it on file, the completion certificate remains available for download when you retrieve your final signed copy.

The "Signed and Verified" stamp is gone

A stamp printed on the page is still just an image: it can be copied, and on its own it proves nothing. The signature panels in your PDF reader rely on the certificate embedded in the file and on the AATL chain of trust. That is the proof international standards recognize, and it is why the stamp no longer has a reason to exist.
