How do I update the PDFSignForm tool in Outlook Classic?

This procedure explains how to update the Outlook Secure Exchanges Outlook Area Sign Form tool. The update is necessary to ensure compatibility with the latest changes introduced by Microsoft.
Warning: the steps below must be followed in the exact order presented. The images included in this article are provided for visual reference only to illustrate the actions to be performed. Be sure to follow each step to ensure the tool is updated correctly.

Step 1: Uninstall the old version of PDFSignForm from the machine

  1. Open the Control Panel.


  2. Click on "Uninstall a program".


  3. Find Secure Exchanges Outlook Area Sign Form in the list, then select it and click Uninstall.
Warning: this step requires system administrator rights.
  1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard, then type %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\SecureExchanges in the search bar that appears.



  2. Delete the "PDFSignForm" folder.


Step 2: Install the new version of the tool

  1. Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard, then type: winget install SecureExchanges.SEOASF --scope user
  2. Secure Exchanges will update automatically.

Note: if the command is blocked on your machine, follow the alternative steps below instead.

The command does not work?

  1. Download the new version from our website.
Note: the downloaded file will be a .msi file.
  1. Once the download is complete, click on the SecureExchangesOASF.msi file.

If a warning appears during the download

  1. Click on the three small dots to the right of the file, then click on Keep.


  2. Then click on Keep anyway.


  3. Once finished, click on the downloaded file to start the installation.
  4. Windows displays a SmartScreen warning

    1. Click on More information.


    2. Click on Run anyway.

You are now up to date.
