Secure Exchanges has recently introduced a new feature to enhance the security of your messages. Now, all secured messages without additional protection (such as a password or SMS code) are automatically safeguarded with an opening code by default. This measure ensures your sensitive communications are protected against unauthorized access and automated monitoring systems.
Secure sensitive links: Unprotected messages are vulnerable if their links are accidentally shared on social media or scanned by automated tools. The code protection prevents these systems from accessing the content without the correct code.
Prevent public anti-spam scans: Some clients use free anti-spam filters that analyze and publish scanned URLs. This protection ensures these links are not exploited or publicly accessible.
Avoid accidental sharing: Users may inadvertently share their links without understanding the security implications. The code protection adds an extra layer of security by preventing unauthorized access.
When sending a secure message: If no additional protection (password or SMS code) is enabled, Secure Exchanges automatically generates a default opening code.
For the recipient: The recipient receives an email containing the secure link and a unique opening code. This code is required to access the message and attachments (as shown in the image above).
Expiration and limits: As with all secure messages, expiration rules and access limits apply.
If you wish to activate this function, please follow these steps :
Access the Secure Exchanges online portal:
Navigate to the "Company Management" section:
Modify the code protection option:
Included in the email: The code is visible in the same message as the secure link.
In a separate email: The link is sent in one message, and the code in a second, separate email.
This setting is configurable in the "Company Management" section of the administrator portal.
We strongly recommend keeping this default protection to maximize the security of your communications. While it does not replace higher-level protections like passwords or SMS codes, it provides an effective barrier against unauthorized intrusions.
