How to avoid mistakenly sending a document to be signed before having defined the signature zones using Outlook?
In order not to be able to send a document to be signed without having defined the signature zones on Outlook, make sure that the option "Allow sending documents to be signed without defining the signature fields" is not checked.
You can check it by clicking on the "Settings" button of the Secure Exchanges ribbon in Outlook and then clicking on the "Signature" pane:
